We won a national championship when I was in school. I’m old but not that old. None of our other major sports have had that kind of success. Not even close. They have been top 4 once in my son’s lifetime and he’ll be getting his license this summer.

How do those teams play defense and what do they expect of their players defensively? I think there's probably a lot more to it than just "how slow do they play". Even though they don't score a lot of points do they have lot of motion and off-ball movement? Do they expect their bigs to play outside of the paint and runs lot of high/low? Who knows?
I had heard the Iowa coach was wanting to put her two bigs on the floor at the same time next year.It won't be Iowa. There's no realistic way for her and Heiden to operate on the court at the same time. The paint would be completely clogged. Audi will get paid by someone who wants to have her be the focal point of their offense.
She's never shown any inclination that she wants to get in shape, why would that change now?It would make sense. Could keep the Fareway endorsement.
In all honesty, and siap in here, but what would the odds be of her next landing spot redshirting her, getting her in better shape and conditioning and redefining her game for her senior year? That's probably what I would do in her shoes
IMO Audi is looking at getting a big chunk of cash. Life changing money. This is her chance. Can’t blame her. The others are looking at better money or opportunities. Pollard has more or less said Bill is coaching this next year.
I agree compared to the relationship T.J. has with his players. He bear hugged Toure a couple times coming off the court. And when you watch when they're checking in or what not he is constantly talking to them. With AC leaving, IMO, the root problem appears to have moved from possible concerns within the team - such as jealousy of her getting all of the attention both on and off the court - to other, maybe cementing what others have generously suggested - coaching problems ???? One thing that has always greatly disturbed me - when a player exits the court for any reason, CBF never greets, looks, or other at them. Instead, he looks past them to the court, leaving whatever needs to be said to the assistant coaches. Whether they need correction or a pat on the back, this is BS!!!
When only 1/4 of your full time conference members compete in a sport with you, can you call it a major sport? I like wrestling, I wrestled in high school, but to call it a major sport is a bit of a stretch. I'm not sure I'd even put it on the level of Women's Volleyball as it seems everyone plays that, let alone Women's Basketball. We won a national championship when I was in school. I’m old but not that old. None of our other major sports have had that kind of success. Not even close.
If he gets a statue, it should be about 3 feet tall and made out of tin. That way it's mediocre just like the program he's run for the last 20 years.I guess I’m a little confused by all of the negative comments toward CBF here. Maybe he is awful, but again his overall track record suggests he probably deserves to have a statue or his name on something…and Jamie has repeatedly shown a willingness to remove coaches who have outstayed their welcome or just aren’t getting it done. Does anyone have any actual insider knowledge…not just hearsay or assumptions?
If she goes to Iowa will be interesting. I think if She leaves Iowa State, She will always be a cyclone and people still respect her unless she goes to Iowa. That said she could still keep a lot of her NIL deals.Certainly possible. How does she fit anywhere else honestly? Bill pretty much let her just park in the lane and only play offense. I think shes somewhat limited on what she can bring to a lot of teams
Yes, but sadly, you can only watch wrestling online. So few matches are even televised. It's just not a big draw sport anymore. Sports like soccer lacrosse hockey are much more covered by the networks and large sporting affiliates. We won a national championship when I was in school. I’m old but not that old. Newer generations got raised on "accountability" from all angles. Pointing out mistakes and getting taught/coached to fix them. Things are very instruction and example-led now, that's what leadership looks like today. That's in schools, that's in the workplace, it's everywhere now.
Yelling for the sake of yelling does not establish accountability. That mindset is long gone. Collective learning and collective accountability is the now and the future.
Nearly every Iowa State dual is on ESPN+Yes, but sadly, you can only watch wrestling online. So few matches are even televised. It's just not a big draw sport anymore. Sports like soccer lacrosse hockey are much more covered by the networks and large sporting affiliates.
Audi already is an All American... Hell it's even in the news headlinesI think Audi and Addy both have great potential if they get the right coach and the right situation. Both could be All Americans.
I mean ya he will be missed. I was there before him for some games. It's just that I believe the game and the players have evolved and he hasn't in a sense. It's a tough job. He has to know that it's time......He’ll be remembered fondly. That’ll never change.
I do remember what Iowa State WBB was before him. Absolute zero of a program, all respect to those trying to change things before him. My sister was in school in ‘93 and they were having open tryouts to get more players.
Isn't Kenzie also graduating? I thought I read that somewhere.Nobody other than grad transfers do, because the portal hasn't opened yet. Addy graduated early, so she is the only one of our transfers actually in the portal at this time.
Window for entering the portal is April 6-20. There is no deadline for picking a new school (other than the practical deadlines).
Name me a player men's or women's in recent history that transferred out that you still think are as beloved as players that finished their careers as Cyclones. Audi would of had a banner hung in Hilton some day had she stayed but there is no way in hell that happens now. Where she goes next is also going to be a big factor in what kind of NIL deals she gets as being an Iowa native there was a lot of value in her deals but I don't see those same companies staying onboard if she commits to another school outside of the state. If she goes to Iowa will be interesting. I think if She leaves Iowa State, She will always be a cyclone and people still respect her unless she goes to Iowa. That said she could still keep a lot of her NIL deals.
Oh, that might be true since she did have a redshirt season. As did Alisa.Isn't Kenzie also graduating? I thought I read that somewhere.
