Now if you'll excuse me, I just got an email saying I won the Canadian lottery and I need to pay them the taxes upfront so I can cash my check.

I’ve seen these come up every few years for probably 20+ years. Come back in 2028 and I bet there’s another thread about something similar.

No harm in seeking feedback, better than getting scammed.
