Ames Lager

Wait a sec.

Did you put Yeungling and PBR in the same sentence???

Hahaha, yeah, I prefer Yeungling obviously. I don't think Ames Lager is exactly like either, just has a stronger flavor like those two do (I understand their flavors are not the same).. They're both pretty distinguishable compared to other more watered-down beers, which I think Ames Lager will be in the same category for most people.

We need an Ames Ultra?

Looking forward to trying the beer of champions.

I was actually in Happy's last night and the said they were working on it but it's going to be a while. West O just doesn't distribute to this part of the state.
Was in there this past Saturday and told the same thing.

However, my greatest concerns have been alleviated as just this morning I was able to purchase a couple 6 packs of Ames Lager here at the Dodge Street Hy-Vee in Dubuque. I say a lot of mean **** about Hy-Vee, but God dammit I am happy they had their **** together for this

I forgot to add that the Grimes Hy-Vee said they fielded phone calls about Ames Lager all day yesterday. I can only imagine the other locations did as well. It's worth calling ahead before driving to the store.

I'm not a vodka drinker (forever killed that taste in high school) so can any of you vodka drinkers tell me if there's really much difference in taste between mid-level vodkas like I assume these both are? The beers should be easy to distinguish since they're all a different kind of brew.

Vodka is supposed to be tasteless. I've read about labs testing Grey Goose and Bottom Shelf ones, and they will be indistinguishable. You'll have less impurities and may have less hangovers as a result. But really can't tell teh taste difference.
