Air Stunt Goes Bad

I'm surprised the FAA allowed this to happen. Especially with this dude doing it on purpose a couple months ago just for clicks on youtube.

(Original Video has been heavily edited since I originally saw it)

Outside of a convenient ramp check or having ATC deny clearances into Class A airspace (both of which require far too much forethought for the FAA) there isn't really anything they can do to stop them.

People/Pilots break regs every day most of the time with no consequences. Especially in the heavy conservative lean of the pilot ranks there is a fair amount of anti government sentiment. There are countless examples of people risking not having certificates, proper training, currency, medicals etc. and they only get caught/found out when something goes wrong.

The first thing I learned in my flying days was that you should never leave a perfectly good airplane in the air.

Well RedBull got what they wanted free publicity, It probably more publicity since it failed so spectacularly . If I was the insurance company I wouldn't pay for the plane.

I doubt it was insured.
