(Goodman, Tempstar/Heil, Grand Air). Grand Air is York product and Tempstar/Heil a Carrier made product. All have 10 parts warranty and a one year labor warranty.

I had no idea pricing had got so high! I’m not exactly sure why companies are blowing this far out of proportions. And, Sorry for the cyber business card slide

Resurrecting as I’m quoting a new furnace & AC now in Ankeny. Just had Golden rule out and came back at a hair under 11k.

I saw folks upthread recommend Lenz and Wyckoff - any others in the metro I should bother getting an estimate from?

I got a new trane furnace last year (1750 sq foot ranch) for 3800. May have been 3300 but I know it was under 4 for sure.

I was very happy with Green's. They replaced our entire HVAC system and I added a couple extras (whole home humidifier and UV light). Grand total was about $9,500. Home is 2,700 sqf for reference.

Thanks - I have both Green's and Wyckoff coming out Monday for estimates. My 11k quote from golden rule was for 2.5ton AC (14 or 15 SEER2) and dual stage furnace. Seems on the high end of what I was expecting for a fairly basic setup.

Maybe have C&K in Ames quote you. They service Ankeny area. Had them for some commercial space and they were great.

Limited history with Golden Rule was high pressure and price. Not impressed. Tried to high pressure sale a whole new system when the only issue was a capacitor needed replaced.

Still happy with our Trane we got through through Bell Brothers a few years back. Golden Rule is usually hellaciously expensive but they have enough workers to get stuff done immediately.
