Looks like the Twins weren't thrilled about being forced to stay in LA for an extra night and they are making them pay for it.

People who rag on the Twins because they play in an easy division aren't paying attention. The Twins have played more games against the west (16) and east (16) divisions so far than against the central (11). And speaking of weak divisions, the West isn't exactly a murderer's row either (only one team above .500 and one other right at .500), but you never hear complaints about the Astros' weak schedule.
And to add to that, the Twins are winning on the road. About to have an 18-8 road record.

Will be fun having the Twins being buyers instead of sellers as the trade deadline approaches.

Possible All-Stars: Berrios, Odorizzi, Polanco (a shoo-in), Rosario. Garver a long shot. Any others?

Castro certainly should get consideration, as should Cron and Schoop.

Eight homeruns again today. With Cruz and Garver on the IL.
The Twins have the best record in baseball 50 games in. Incredible.

Add to that the Astros are 12-8 against the "weakest Division" and 15-5 against their own division. They are about to go to 12-9 against the Central if this White Sox lead holds up.

Wow is all I can say. Ride the wave!

No kidding. People trying to cut down the Twins saying the schedule is soft, but look at that Angels lineup. There is some power there. Also have already done the trip to Houston/NYY so that's arguably the toughest two AL places to play this year.

Houston has played a tougher schedule than the Twins and Yankees, but it's not a drastic difference. Interestingly, Cleveland has played one of the easiest schedules in the AL so far. Hope the Twins can keep rolling and get plenty of separation. If the Indians get healthy the second half, the race could get interesting.

Unlike Houston, the Twins at least can fatten up on KC, DET, and CWS

....Definitely would like to see some bullpen help with somebody that might possibly stick around next year or beyond.

Agree. MLB Central was suggesting this morning that the Twins should go after Kimbrel. At $50 million for three years, I don't see the Twins signing him. Much more likely is a trade for bullpen help with a seller at the deadline. Will be interesting to see who they add.

unlike the Twins, the Astros can fatten up on the pitching of Texas, the Angels and Seattle, who have three of the highest team ERAs in MLB. The Angels are 26th in team ERA, the Rangers are 27th and the Mariners are 28th. The Angels starters are horrible. Their bullpen was supposed to be their strength, but the Twins scored 8 of their 16 runs off them in that last game. Good pitching beats good hitting, and the Astros have good pitching. Seattle and Texas have to outscore opponents. They are tied for second in runs scored behind the Twins, who also lead MLB in HRs and RBIs. The Astros are 4th in runs scored.

Meanwhile, Cleveland has the 6th lowest team ERA. Oakland at 12th has the lowest team ERA in the West after the Astros. Yes, there are some high team ERAs in the Central too, but not as high as the West. KC is 29th, White Sox are 22nd and Detroit is 23rd. Twins are 9th.

The records keep piling up. It's great to see the Twins hitting on all cylinders. The Sox announcers said it all- "The Twins have HOF slugging numbers-- the whole team!"
Odo going for the shutout and a possible double digit division lead tomorrow.

Not looking good for baseball here today. Might stop raining by 6:00 but not sure how good the field will be.

Crazy game today, Twins. You guys had 2 more prime scoring opportunities in the 3rd and 5th innings, but a couple incredible defensive plays held you guys at bay - especially Jeffress's defensive gem. We're gonna have to have more of the same to try to keep your potent offense in check. I've been very impressed with your team this year. Kudos to you guys and good luck (just not too much good luck for tomorrow ;))!

Finally got a game on TV last night and watched them lose for once. Had chances too.

Came down to the Crew"s bullpen outperforming ours. The relievers are the Twins biggest weakness and I'm sure the brain trust was thinking again last night that we need to shore up this area at the trade deadline.
Hope our rookie pitcher has a great first game tonight.

Arguably our best reliever gave up the runs last night. Sometimes you just have an off night. It had been a few games since he had pitched and I think it takes a while to get back in the groove.

And they had won 10 out of 11.

I read a tongue in check article about how twins fans were going to lose their **** when they have a 3 game losing streak ;)
