MLB: ***2026 MLB Season Thread***

MLB.com - Yankees starters have tossed at least five innings while allowing two runs or fewer in 16 consecutive starts, the longest streak by any Major League club since at least 1893, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Pretty crazy without Gerrit Cole in the lineup. They did just lose Clarke Schmidt (2.52 ERA) from that lineup for at least a couple of months with a lat injury.

Toronto has now NOT scored in the 1st inning in 28 straight games.

I really hate the ESPN baseball TV broadcast guys but my hatred for Eduardo Pérez is boarding on visceral. Most of the games with this ass in the booth I have muted. David Cone is pretty knowledgeable but is barely able to get a word in with the other guys steady stream of diarrhea.

The only thing worse than Bob Costas in the booth and never shutting up is to put in Kevin Costner with him for a couple of innings. It's like a ******* podcast with a baseball game on in the background. And at the commercial break, a commercial for Costner's latest movie. They did take a 30 second break to talk about the game when Aaron Judge got hit by a pitch.

I'm not sure anyone can do nostalgia like MLB (and probably Fox). This Birmingham game looks pretty cool.

Much like the D-Day veterans there aren't going to be too many more chances to get Negro League players together.

We've hit the half way mark now for some teams. How are your guys doing?

Yanks are trying their darndest to give up 1st place to the Orioles but the Orioles are on their own losing streak. I can't blame Judge, he's got 29 HR and 75 RBI at the halfway mark.

And, damn, look at those Guardians, surprise record of all of the leaders right now. So used to barely above .500 being in contention in the Central that I totally overlooked Cleveland. They've had a great 1st half.
