MLB: ***2026 MLB Season Thread***

Currently it is a rail yard but appears it is going to be the future home of the Chicago White Sox. Believe on the other side of the river is where the MLS Chicago Fire is building their new stadium.

Things are looking even more bleak for the second A's season in Sacramento

An article from SFGate about the Athletics. Looks like the fine people in the state capital are pretty much over the franchise formerly of Oaktown.

This entire Oakland story has been screwed up from the start with plenty of blame for all sides. The A's needed a new stadium they were playing in one of the worst, if not the worst in the league, and the city of Oakland could never come up with a plan to provide money on the site they wanted. The Giants are also not free of blame here, years ago when they were struggling and thinking about moving, the A's give them some of their market to stay in the area, when the A's asked for that region back, the Giants refused and would not them move to the area.
What was the point of staying and playing in Oakland after they had agree to move to Vegas, few are going to go support a team that is leaving as soon as the new stadium is built, so they moved to Sacramento to their minor league stadium until their Vegas site is ready.

It will be better for the league and team to move to Vegas, not only does it give the entire Bay Area to the Giants which will help them, and Vegas will get another reason for people to visit the area.
