Doubt we cut him but I guarantee he retires at seasons endI think it's also time to cut Thielen. I can't remember a time when he caught a pass. He used to be so good.

Saying it doesn’t make it true, he objectively was. Through his first 6 games he was: 75/139 53.9% 2TD 5INTAllen was NEVER this bad. And he showed progress during his rookie year. I recall he had a nice game vs the Vikings that year
You're also forgetting the fact that Allen had a supporting cast of Kelvin Benjamin and Zay Jones as his two best weapons while Mccarthy has inherited a HOF receiver and elite supporting cast also.Saying it doesn’t make it true, he objectively was. Through his first 6 games he was: 75/139 53.9% 2TD 5INT
JJ is 86/159 54.1% 6TD 10INT
I’m not forgetting anything, I was responding to his singular incorrect assertion. You're also forgetting the fact that Allen had a supporting cast of Kelvin Benjamin and Zay Jones as his two best weapons while Mccarthy has inherited a HOF receiver and elite supporting cast also.
Just imagine if JJ were on a team like Tennessee or CLeveland this year.
Allen had about a 10 point advantage in passer ratingSaying it doesn’t make it true, he objectively was. Through his first 6 games he was: 75/139 53.9% 2TD 5INT
JJ is 86/159 54.1% 6TD 10INT
So you’re saying JJ will be a Josh Allen type of player? These comparisons are foolishI’m not forgetting anything, I was responding to his singular incorrect assertion.

So if you didn't forget about it that means you were well aware of the discrepancy in talent around Allen and JJ in their first year? And that direct comparisons need to be taken with a grain of salt and not just look at raw numbers?I’m not forgetting anything, I was responding to his singular incorrect assertion.
Dude, go yell at clouds or something. He said “Allen wasn’t ever this bad” and he was. That’s it. You’re wanting to put me on some pro JJ opinion that I don’t have.So if you didn't forget about it that means you were well aware of the discrepancy in talent around Allen and JJ in their first year? Wish I saw what the stat was but it was one where he was like 813 out of 814 qualified QBs over like 20 years. The only guy below him was Jamarcus Russell. You're stuck with this season no matter what, but if he keeps rolling out there for a few more games and still does not show any meaningful growth, I'd rather cut away too early over too late.
It's not like he's just playing "Sean Mannion" bad. He's basically playing some of the worst QB football played in decades. We're closer to Josh Rosen or Nathan Peterman than a Davis Mills or Mason Rudolph type setup. None of that is good, but there's levels to it, and we are decidedly on a really, really, really low level.
I think all I can say from the couch about the draft strategy is that your coaching staff runs a long, deep pass-heavy offense and wants to lean on that. You've gotta be looking to draft guys who have thrown thousands of balls in college -- not guys winning games on 15 completions per while the rest of the system around him does all the work. Take Bo Nix for example -- that guy threw nearly 2,000 passes in college games. JJM threw just over 700 total.
Nobody should be comparing JJ to AllenYou guys have the strawmen ready to roll tonight. I responded to your post saying Allen wasn’t THAT bad. He was. Doesn’t mean JJ is the next Josh Allen. Just means your take on Allen was incorrect.
Can you imagine Purdy on this team surrounded by the offensive talent?
I'm not a Viking fan. Yes, this game was painful to watch. It's ******* unwatchable at this point.
Now did Allen have a top 3 WR to throw to? How about a HC who has been referenced as the “QB whisperer”Dude, go yell at clouds or something. He said “Allen wasn’t ever this bad” and he was. That’s it. You’re wanting to put me on some pro JJ opinion that I don’t have.
Now do the o line. Now did Allen have a top 3 WR to throw to? How about a HC who has been referenced as the “QB whisperer”
This is ludicrous. Can people just stop saying “well (insert player) had a rough start, so cut him slack”
Not all situations are equal. JJ has everything going for him for talent to throw to. Strong WR1, very good WR2, very good TE’s. A coach who is offensive minded and a former QB.
Nothing so far shows JJ can be the franchise QB. So stop comparing him to others.
JJM would start for the Browns...Definitely a QB factory in Cleveland.Just imagine if JJ were on a team like Tennessee or CLeveland this year.
The O Line has been fine the last few weeksNow do the o line.
Fact is, he could get much better... Or not.
Nothing is certain at this point.
Yes it was fine. It’s struggled overall this year but is back to full strength and played decent last week. The O Line has been fine the last few weeks
Last week was the first time all starters have started and 2 were out before the game ended. The O Line has been fine the last few weeks
And I think we all want McCarthy to be successful. But he has been absolutely terrible so far. Just need to see some progress the rest of this season. Not asking him to be a MVP caliber QB, but fans need to see some glimmer of hope that he can be the QB for the next 10+ yearsYes it was fine. It’s struggled overall this year but is back to full strength and played decent last week.
The rest of the talent around him is very good. If they have to depend on being great at every other unit for JJ to be functional then he’s not the guy.
l guess if Brosmer comes in and is respectable, that will tell us a lot.
