MLB: ***2026 Minnesota Twins***

Twins team batting is .219... worst in all of MLB.
Correa batting .185... Awesome.
Twins last in stolen bases, and they have Buxton on the team. WTF?

I don’t know the # of attempts but my assumption is that it is super low. They don’t even try to run which makes no sense. Especially when you clearly can’t hit the ball.

They couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat.

Mahle out with Tommy John surgery. Well, that trade sucked.

I don’t love it but I’ll wait to see. I trust this FO absolutely zero in evaluating pitching. I pray he’s healthy and doesn’t need Tommy john by mid-May.

D. Wait and see. The health of the rotation will be a worry all year.

Foolish take. This FO has:

1. Acquired Joe Ryan, a #2 type starter for half a season of Nelson Cruz.

2. Acquired Pablo Lopez who's been phenomenal so far.

3. Drafted and developed Ober who pretty much no one thought would be a good starter in MLB coming out of college.

4. Traded for Gray who's been great.

Yeah pitcher health has been an issue but that's always a crapshoot. It's especially comical to criticize their ability to spot pitching when the Twins are currently rocking the second lowest team ERA in baseball. And they've done so without leaving the farm system bereft of talent or having a Yankees or Mets esque payroll.

The pitching has been terrific for the most part. Just got to get the bats going.

Scary to say it but Pagan has been terrific during May.

5.2 innings
.53 WHIP
7 K
1 BB (it was intentional)
.105 OBA

I don't trust him but I'm starting to trust him a little.

Nah, now make a list of all the guys they spent money and prospect capital that have arm issues in the last 5 years. They’ve hit on a couple, I don’t disagree. And part of why the guys are gettable for the Twins is because they have question marks. But there was a reason the medical staff was canned in the off season.

Is the good Max back?
I think it’s time for Twins to give up the idea that Max is ever going to be anything more than a marginal starter. Since the miracle 2019 he’s ranged between should be a bench guy to a mediocre starter. He just doesn’t produce like you need a corner outfielder to on a good team.

I would have to agree with this. I think Max is who he is. I don't see much more improvement.
