That’s the one exception recently and I guess the Nationals too. It can happen, but it’s rare.
I really like what the owners proposed the other day with a 170M floor and a 243M cap. And better revenue sharing among all teams. That floor would be the Twins highest payroll ever. However, with the current front office I have little faith they would spend it wisely. At least it would be closer to a level playing field.
One note on those numbers, it includes benefits, which I think is around $20M.
Hopefully they end up with something like the owners proposal, but maybe a little more like the NBA. Bird rights so you can exceed the cap for a home grown player. Maybe some luxury tax aprons.
As a Twins fan, I love that both the players and owners want to pool local media rights.
I think the biggest sticking point for the players might be how the computer league revenue. The owners will try to keep something out of that math so that it's not actually a 50/50 split.
Agree. The only hope is that a Twins buyer emerges after waiting out the ‘27 strike.

Bad managing by Shelton today to pitch to Witt Jr. with the game on the line. Can’t let the best player beat you in that situation.
Seems like they just go through the motions in all their day games. Will be interesting to see how many trades are made by the deadline.
Would assume Joe Ryan will be traded but would surprised if Buxton or Jeffers are dealt.
I think Jeffers will also be traded. Will be surprised if they give him an extension. Hope they don't deal Buxton.
