2026 investments

My cousins grandpa purchased $1,000 worth of Proctor and Gamble stock in the 1950s. When he died in the 70s, his estate divied it up among three kids. Ten years ago, my uncle died and he did the same among his three kids. The total amount each kid got was around a quarter million.

Too late to inform you that I’m your long lost cousin?

When Forest Gump was released in 1994 the "fruit" company Apple they had invested in was trading at a split adjusted price of $0.24. A $1000 investment back then would be worth over a million today. Who else watched the movie and thought "why couldn't I have got in when it was cheap?"

If you think you're dumb, how about this one.
A few months ago I started a new account with fidelity. Normally after buying a stock, if it has a decent gain, I'll put a trailing stop on it. I thought I was doing that today to Amazon

Sell 25 Shares of AMZN Limit at $202.00 (Good 'til Canceled)

Filled at $211.83
I put a limit on it instead of a stop.

I guess in the end I made $250, but I feel like such an idiot for getting this wrong.

I did a trailing stop on a stock that ended up hitting the trailing stop and then go up 25 percent. I felt like an idiot too.

I lost a bunch, I mean a bunch on a flash crash in August of 2015. Dont remember what, but the trigger was at like $200 and it filled at $145. Settled at like $190.00. Live and learn.

Went ahead and shorted $BIRD today. Idk if I can live in a world where people fail at selling shoes and pivot to "AI computing". I am a noted clanker-hater though
