You get some D slopes (I’m in a flatter part and we have some Cs and Ds) and you get a 10-13 degree hills. Have a wavy 80 and you have that on the front and back of the hill and you could pop another 2-3 acres in an 80.
ok, I'm currently working on grabbing all available yield trial data from ISU (all hybrids, all years)... the plan is to have a layer where you can apply any hybrid in the system to get a rough estimate on yield expectations using your inputs on your ground...
Sounds interesting. I'd think inter-regional variability would make any confidence interval a large moving target, but at least it's something other than a shotgun approach.
hard agree. its going to be tough... like this circled area of deep loess
there are no field representatives for eroded deep loess.. this mo valley site is in the missouri river flood plain.
BUT, i think a feedback mech using actual harvest layers from the grower will help feed more info into the system
also, would yall like a text message saying something like: "West 80 farm will be reaching peak pollination next week. current conditions and forecast indicate pollination issues could be experienced"

I had the same idea but it was geared towards disease/insect patterns and the conditions that would be favorable for them to cause an issue
That’s what the platform I deal with does. It is more focused on disease than anything.
oh yeah, i've written some disease and pest guides for nearly every crop (i work in veggies and it can be insane). but corn and soy are easier. yep, you will get a text saying: hey, you need to check x area for disease, conditions are perfect
Will this great looking tool be ok with your poorest ground out yielding some of your best ground by 150 bu per acre? We don’t have a lot of tile so we have poor spots and drown out spots in really ground in 2025, and the best corn I have ever combined on our poorest ground. 150-200 difference.
system is only as good as the data that is fed into it. thats where on field harvest layers are important
