Yesterday, December 4th saw a few upsets.
The early season loss to UNI doesn’t look as bad, with UNI winning yesterday to face Creighton on Saturday.
The Cyclones face the Tommies at 4:30 (I will be watching and rooting from home).
The Tommies will be motivated being the first team from the college to be in any NCAA Division 1 postseason. The team boasts 9 seniors. They have a 21-9 record.
Height wise, the two teams match up closely. The tallest player on the Tommies is a 6’4” MB. The team stats show the same 7 ladies have been the same rotation all year with 1 somewhat regular 8th player. Again, just basing on stats it looks to be a 5-1 being run by the Tommies. They are hitting .248 for the season while holding opponents to a .173 hitting. They do not appear to be a super strong blocking team and give up more blocks. The team also has more service errors and aces then the Cyclones.
Hopefully the Cyclones can walk away in 3 and then scout the Gophers.
