Couldn’t agree more. We’re very fortunate to have Dresser at the helm.

One thing about KD, he always has a plan B if things don't go the way he expects with recruits. If you would've told me in March after the Philly disappointment that we would land Elam, Stevo, Zerban, Dean, and a potential diamond in the rough with Powe, I think I would've called that overall best case scenario. Larkins would've been great to add, but we still got an AA at 157 and Stevo allows Castillo to redshirt.

Powe is pretty damn good, 165 will be just fine.
@Ryan Rohlk it seems to me that Powe was possibly brought in to push PJ. I know KD is a fan of "no free lunches." What are your thoughts on the additional options at '57 & '65 regarding PJ? I'm assuming there is some combination of Frost, Frost and Ech at 133, 141 & 149.

Not Ryan, but I expect PJ and Jacob to end up wrestling off for 149 with an outside shot PJ wrestles off Zerban for 157. PJ is not big enough to go 165.

I should clarify that Jacob was still introducing himself as a 141 at the Okoboji golf tournament. So, if Ech has anymore issues with his ankle healing, another scenario could be Jacob at 141, Paniro at 149, Zerban at 157

Thanks STU. That's significant insight IMO.

I know you have good access to the program and I appreciate your contributions to the program and this board.

I hope Ech is able to be 100% by Feb....

I wonder how long he has left? Once he leaves there will be a big spot to fill.
He's 62, but doesn't seem like he's running out of steam but he can't have too many years left you wouldn't think.

Just got have the head coaching position sorted our for the next 7 years and then Carr can take over after he's done a few olympic cycles :)

This is shaping up to be a very good dual team with a chance at being a very good tournament team as well.

125 - Poulin (with Castillo getting spot matches maintaining RS).
133 - Frost, Reneiri, Meza, Grice
141 - J Frost, Ech, E Frost
149 - J Frost, Ech, Paniro
157 - Zerban, Paniro, Euton
165 - Euton, Riggins, Powe
174 - MJ, Riggins
184 - Dean, Naak
197 - Elam
285 - Yonger

We’re going to be tough.

Almost gotta figure if ortega gets eligibilty that jacob would sit this year and try to get a medical for 2023-2024 right?

125-Stevo
133-Ortega
141-Evan Frost
149-Ech
157-Zerban
165-Euton/Riggins/Powe
174-MJ
184-Dean
197-Elam with tate and sawyer taking matches here and there
HWT-Yonger
This is a lineup with potential to AA at every single weight in my eyes. Yonger Ech Elam and Ortega would be title contenders if fully healthy

Jacob has used a medical, I think it's more likely Evan would try to get a medical and get back on the same eligibility timeline as Jacob

He'd have to have an injury this season. Seems like the NCAA gives them for just about anything.
Plenty of ways all these NCAA coaches game the system. A tweaked knee that holds them out almost always leads to a medical

What are the odds for Ortega actually getting a year of eligibility? To me ono was a for sure being that he was so young but with Ortega being quite a bit older I don’t see the NCAA granting him a year.

so, to be clear - a tweaked knee is a season that saw a wrestler take 6th at nationals and he could be considered for a medical RS??
