NBA: *** 2024 NBA thread ***

Hartenstein pushes off so much.

He and Caruso were officiated vs Jokic more beneficially than I’ve ever seen players vs a legend like that. You’d have thought they were the hall of famers and joker was a bench guy. It’s like if you spaz out enough the officials get used to it.

The bench unit has been awful so far this series and is a big reason why they are getting blown out, but I don't know why it takes Tyrese 3 quarters to finally get aggresive.

OKC really rolling.
Pacers have also been sloppy with the ball.

Pacers have been sloppy this entire series. Game 1 they cleaned it up just in time to pull off the shocker. Game 2 they were in the game while OKC was playing sloppy as well - but as soon as they cleaned up their play it was game over.

Pacers HAVE to play better if they want any chance at winning this series. They can't keep playing this sloppy. And sure - OKC's D is a contributor to that. If they want to bring home a trophy they'd better figure it out.

OKC looked better tonight but if there is a trend it’s that they cannot maintain first half energy for an entire game.

The frenzy pace on d slowly fades into typical playoffs D.

SGA consistent as usual. Haliburton can’t be non existent for 3 quarters in the finals if he wants to silence the doubters.

The talking heads are wrong that he needs tons of shots/points, but 4 assists at start of 4Q is not gonna cut it.

This could be his worst assist/to game of year.

Holy hell ESPN post game is brutal. Haven’t watched it in forever, thought I’d give it a quick watch. Even worse than last time I watched it, which is saying something!!!!!

Local news guys would be far better.

These guys don’t know what the f they are talking about.

A guy like Hali, Nash or Magic can absolutely win averaging 15 points and 12 assists if he’s got his team running line a finely tuned engine, it’s his playmaking that was absent tonight, not that he needs “x” points to win.

I don’t disagree he doesn’t need a bunch of shots. But he was borderline a liability at stretches tonight.

Yeah first half was the worst half of playoffs for him easily.

He just needs to make plays and take care of the ball, first half was neither. Some nights the plays might include 28 points, other nights maybe only 15 points but 10-15 assists. These ESPN guys have barely watched him before the past few weeks and don’t even realize the kind of player he is, they’ve been too busy crowing Brunson the greatest athlete in sports history the past two years.

Hali got rid of the ball way too early those first 3q. Normally he's hitting open guys but tonight felt like he just wanted to get rid of the ball. Have to balance keeping the ball moving and hitting open guys.

OKCs defense is very good, among the best, if not the best, in the NBA.

Tyrese is on the verge of greatness, but he's not yet at the Jordan, LeBron, Bird, etc. level. The greatest players in history did not disappear in playoff games, especially the finals.

LeBron did in one Finals (just one), at least by his standards, and that’s why the debate between he and MJ is easy for anybody who actually watched both. The bar is that high.

Caruso gets away with murder on the defensive side of the ball. He’s the definition of old man Y ball. Get beat by younger quicker dude and get physical with the guy both with your body and arms to keep them in front of you (and it’s not beating the guy to his spot).
