Why? They are the sole professional sports franchise in Oklahoma. You should expect them to be a big draw. And hell they even draw a lot of NBA fans from KC and other parts of the region.
On the flip side, TNTs coverage is probably the best and most entertaining in American pro sports. The difference between the two is mind boggling.
I actually watched some of the game on ESPN the other night instead of just having it on silent in the background. It was terrible. It sounded like they announcers were remote. The AI rendering/walk thru looked like a high school project and added absolutely zero value besides saying they used AI. The talking heads were nobodies. The color commentators were talking crap about Gobert. I didn't disagree with anything they said but it seemed super unprofessional for an announcer to talk smack about a player during the broadcast. Overall it was absolutely terrible and I have no doubt they will eventually find a way to ruin Inside the NBA.
I thought we had it rough in DC with just 2 championships (Caps in 18, Nats in 19) in the past 32 years, but Minnesota has it brutal. At least you're not a Mariners fan. They have it the worst.
The only thing I'd disagree with is that Tim Legler was on it (if that was the same game) and I've always found him knowledgeable.
They only have Legler join Van Pelt.
