***2024 CFB Week 3 Games Thread***

FYI... Troy has the 94th best Team Defense in the nation... and the 115th best Scoring Defense in the nation.

... and just like that Troy ties it up 7-7. NICE!

WVU's QB is not a good passer. They're refusing to throw on this drive

Vaunted Hokeye defense!

Lol, what’s that corner doing

Yes ha ha ha yes!

Guy was so open I thought the QB might choke on the throw.

So, lot of speculation that Kirk wants to quit. Tired, Brain gone, hates transfer portal, losing so won't hit his 60% career win, last year with trash schedule.

But he isn't going to walk away from 4 more years and ~$20M or whatever. Is he TRYING to get fired so he can collect his buyout? Is Kirk going Manchurian candidate on his own program?

I think maybe Iowa's secondary finally isn't that great, just average. We probably didn't pick on them enough. I highly doubt they're going to average 7-10 points a game from corner and safety scoring this year.

I think it's more just that their luck has finally run out. Iowa has been a blessed program. When your offense isn't good and you aren't getting 7+ points/game from special teams and defensive scores, tough to win in a major conference.

The points on turnovers thing was part being good, but some % of it surely was luck. On special teams I'll give it to them. You just never can COUNT on scoring from defense yet they did for years.

I was just about to post this! We threw a bunch of quick hitters because we were worried about their pass rush, but I don't think their d-line is where it has been at either. I wish we would have trust our pass-pro a little more and let our receivers run longer routes, because I think those would have been there

I would take our defensive backs and safeties over theirs comfortably. Both teams lost high talent NFL guys, I think we filled in better.

Let's see ISU let it fly later in the year.
