NFL: ***2022 NFL Draft Thread***

I feel like an old-timer around here sometimes, but if you can recall that you've got me beat.

Wikie'd it at least he played for the Jets and scored some TD's for them can't find the knocked out part.

To be clear, I was alive during his career, even at ISU. So I'm old, just not old enough to remember any of that.

Since he got drafted I sort of followed him but I'm not sure anymore he was the 1st ISU player I remember following in the NFL though there were some linemen (?) I remember being in the NFL in the 70's. (I think)

Congrats to Breece, now I will have to follow the Jets!

The 2010s to present has to be the golden era of Cyclones who are great on the field/court and just all around guys you can root for.

Yeah guys like Breece and Tyrese Haliburton have games that are so amazingly flashy and jaw dropping...then when they get interviewed they are so cool, happy and humble. You almost expect any player with that kind of wow factor to be arrogant off the field.

Totally agree, wonder if his injury moved him down the Board.

He was so much drastically better right away than anybody expected at ISU out of any freshman. He surprised everybody at one level, maybe he will at the next.

Jets really have had a decent draft. 2 fourth rounders and then done. Is there a lot of difference between a 6/7 rounder and a free agent? I know some are found there but guessing just as many are found as FAs as in the 6 or 7 th rounds.

Not really, usually day 3 guys are total crapshoots. Obviously there are a lot of guys that hit in that range, but there are far more guys that either don't make it or bounce around a bit before finding a landing spot.

In ancient times there were two (maybe 3) different OLineman from ISU that were all-pro.

Finding those types again is the quest.

Agreed. The talent isn't that different, but drafting guarantees you'll get the guy, rather than take a chance that he might sign with someone else if you try to get him as a UFA. A lot of teams are hedging their bets based on that, during the late rounds.

Didn't Tyler Goodson from Iowa leave school early to enter the draft? And now I see he's projected to not even be drafted. He must have been getting some bad information.

Hilarious to think a lot of Iowa fans thought he was better than Breece.
