NBA: 2022 NBA Playoffs

Honestly, maybe with the exception of the MIN-MEM and GS-MEM series, this year's NBA Playoffs has largely sucked. Even the series that have been "competitive" haven't really been entertaining.
what?! Dallas vs Phoenix was great and so was Phoenix vs New Orleans too. That was far more competitive than it should have been for a 1/8.

Announcers are fine for ESPN. I really like Breen, Jackson, and JVG. Their studio is really what sucks. Stephen A is so hard to listen to.

This x1,000. I don't know why he always has to yell. Plus I'm not so sure he is all that knowledgeable. Loud sure the rest not so much.

Dallas vs Phoenix might have started off good, but starting with game 5 every game was over by the 3rd quarter, and game 7 was over before it started.

Phoenix vs New Orleans wasn't great - that was Phoenix playing down to New Orleans' level. As I mentioned in the post you quoted, just because a series was "competitive" doesn't mean it was entertaining.

Not so sure Phoenix played down a level as much as they just turned out to be not all that great after all. Also, this Boston/Miami series is the same as that Dallas/Phoenix series where every game is over very early.

Even in a close series (6-7 games), most games are usually blowouts. It has been this way for a few years now.

When the GSW dynasty was starting, I was squarely on team anti-Curry, anti-Clay. However, I think a lot of that hatred was magnified when KD joined them as a ring chaser. I've really come to appreciate how Kerr has made every player on that team an essential asset, including new players. You can literally take one player out and plug in any new player. Their player development is incredible.

Steph's smirks still rub me the wrong way sometimes, but I'm beginning to understand it's because haters like me still have that little spot who want him to fail.

I feel that way about Smart. I'm sure Celtics fans like him but his flopping would annoying the hell out of me as a fan. I actually also can't stand LeBron James. You watch him and he NEVER fouls. He's the biggest crybaby whiner and I can't stand him.

That's the entire NBA and I think it's hurting the product.

There was a play yesterday where Duncan Robinson fouled Tatum on a 3. Clearly got him on the arm and his momentum carried him into his body. As obvious of a foul as you could possibly have. And while Robinson didn't throw a huge fit, he did the raised palm "what did I do thing" to the ref.

They love to complain to and about the refs, but fail to consider whether their constant negativity towards them could have a role in qualified people not wanting to become NBA refs.

Might want to rethink the hurting their product angle. NBA ratings for we’re up something like 26% over last year in the first round alone. Playoff basketball is the best basketball there is in the world, not even close, and the ratings show that people like to watch.

Yeah...the NBA was never my thing and still isn't my "go-to" for sports entertainment. I have young sons who enjoy it and I enjoy watching it with them. My one take-away from the past few seasons of NBA basketball is: wow, these guys are so good! Almost too good! As if the game is so easy for them it sometimes seems as if they are bored playing it. I could nitpick on the NBA v college basketball but there is no doubt how great the NBA players are at the game of basketball.
