MLB: ***2022 MLB SEASON THREAD***

I'm more than pleased to balance out the schedule. Mostly, Baltimore lost anyway but now is a great time to play the crap AL teams more!

Looks like LeMahieu for the Yanks might be done now to. He's hit the IL now with Rizzo, Benintendi and a dozen others. Stanton SHOULD be on the IL, he's hurt and not even DHing but they have no one left to call up in his place so they're just crossing their figures and hoping his achilles magically gets better, hint, it won't! They may still hold on for the division title but you can put a fork in any realistic hopes for post season success. Was a great half season and fun while it lasted. I am pinning my hopes on Judge hitting 60-something as a consolation prize.

Everyone of the 30 members of the BBWAA that vote the MVP award should have either Judge or Ohtani as #1 or #2. They rank their top 10. You can count on one of these guys being a jackass and voting either Judge or Ohtani as not #1 or #2 just out of spite.

Miguel Cabrera won the Triple Crown and the AL MVP award in 2012, .348 44 HR 137 RBI, and seven first place votes went to three other players.

Pretty remarkable two months considering he has had no protection from anyone hitting around him. Guys have been on IL and guys that have been playing haven't hit ****.

Didn't dawn on anyone till they were posing for the picture after the game that it was all Latin American born players in the starting lineup. Cool moment coincidental to Clemente day.

The teams in that division certainly aren't world beaters...but a race is a race and they play each other enough it will be fun to watch. Frustrated White Sox fan here...but if they sneek in...they have the pitchiing to scare teams! Problem is...they can't score runs at all!

Frustrated White Sox fan here too. Especially with last night's big game with Cleveland ending with the Sox blowing it in extra innings.

The Guardians are just the better team. Too many injuries and just such inconsistent play all season long has derailed the Sox all year.

5 games out now is just too much. I'm going to go ahead and say congrats to CLE now. Better manager, playing great late, I could go on and on.

Yeah...agree...it is over! Cleveland plays the way I wish the White Sox would play...but then again the Guardians are managed by a guy that doesn't fall asleep in the dugout during games. I get the "romance" of brining LaRussa back...but that was a stupid decision and it ruined this season (and kind of last season even though they won the division)! Cairo is OK...if he is the manager next year I am good with it. LaRussa should be kicked upstairs. If Kenny and Rick don't pony up for a RF and/or a 2B...then they need to go as well!

It’s crazy how little attention Judge is getting. Did the steroid era ruin this chase?

That guy may have given 6 figures away.

....and I'm not dancing much in this thread because the Twins are just depressing.

Guess I am posting here because I've no one to talk with anymore about baseball in real life. Only baseball friends I have (both friends for decades) have insulted me about Judge. Red Sox buddy says Judge is cheating and on steroids based on him hitting more than anyone else this year. Keep in mind I've never uttered a single Red Sox diss or insult to him in 50 years. Other friend, grumpy Cubbie, just says he doesn't like Judge, likes the old school players. Was saying a couple years age that Yanks should trade him because he is way overrated. Stops just short of saying he hopes he gets hurt.

I’m not a Yankees fan, but if this is a clean run it’s pretty astonishing and historic. Makes me worry about some of the great numbers in baseball.
