MLB: ***2022 MLB SEASON THREAD***

What’d they give up for Montas?

Prospects only.

Prospects only.

Not really excited for this one but not a lot of starters available and the cost wasn't to high. With Severino out and some starters scuffling they needed to find someone. Nobody in AAA was deemed a good option. Just watched German struggle in the first.

Edit: Well, poop, looks like Luis Severino is done for the year, just put him on the 60 day IL. Pretty much takes him out for the season. Yanks starters had a hot couple of months but are starting to crash and burn now.

Lot's of trade action popping. So channel flipped into MLB and it's "Something something Juan Soto something something Soto something something Soto something Soto".

Nats are also supposedly taking Eric Hosmer (and his contract)

The Nats must still be really high on Gore, that does not feel like a great return.
Most of the guys that are pretty familiar with the minor league prospects think the Nats got a pretty good haul. Guess we will see how it plays out.

They are getting a very good group of prospects. Padres fans aren’t thrilled with how much was given up but can live with it for one or two chances to finally break the curse.
