MLB: ***2022 MLB SEASON THREAD***

A real Rick Ankiel moment for Ryan Helsley- which no Cardinals fan has a good feeling about.

This kind of meltdown probably means a comfortable win for the Phils tomorrow night.
Great time to have him go 2 innings for first time.

I’ve thought for a long time managers should work their closers longer occasionally, instead of only bringing them in for 2 or 3 outs. That way they’re more comfortable with a two-inning situation if it comes around … instead of throwing a guy in for 5 outs when he’s not used to it.

It hasn‘t been that long since closers often went 2 or 3 innings consistently. Don’t really see that anymore. Maybe not having 14 pitchers on your roster would help …

Padres up 7-1 on the Mets in the 6th. It would be very Met-like for them to win 101 games and then be done in the Wild Card Round.

I freaking hate Dish. Trying to watch a pirated stream of Spice channel 25 years ago had better reception than I currently have for ESPN for this game.

(Keep in mind I'm currently in a hotel due to a work trip or I'd never even have to deal with Dish)

Cleveland, Seattle, & Philadelphia move on to Division Series.

New York & San Diego play a series deciding Game 3 on Sunday Night.

Phillies up 4-1 on the Braves Top 4.

Will be interesting to see if these teams that have had like 6 days off if it will be more of a negative than a positive for them.

Did the Phillies just get hot at the right time? Or was Joe Girardi a big reason for them struggling early in the season?

Edit: I haven't followed baseball much this season but I counted Philadelphia out of it early in the season after they fired their manager.
