I don't think Sconnie would fire Gard after this season but you'd think if he repeats this year next year, then it'll be warm for sure.

He's skirted by with some weird teams but late season/tourney success but I don't believe their recruiting classes are exactly pointing to a bright future.

Whether people liked it or not under Bo Ryan they played a certain way and were very successful with it. They may still have some similar themes with tempo etc. but there's really not much of an identity there imo.

An interesting stat for in conference play because I think our FTs have been an Achilles.
ISU is last in the B12 in FT% @ 65.4
Wisconsin is last in the B10 in FT% @ 58.6

But WI is 2nd in that conference in 3P made/game.

Just watching Nebraska-Penn St because I'm a complete basketball degenerate and after Nebraska won, the announcer said "for the first time at Nebraska, Fred Hoiberg has 11 wins". Wow, yikes.
Wife and I were watching and we both said “11, that cant be right”, what a dumpster fire that program is.

Is this nail in the coffin for Wisconsin’s NCAA tournament hope?

Wisconsin is teetering in bubble range, but too soon to be in danger zone. Margin for error is beginning to dwindle.

Thru 2/4, NET rank is iffy but profile is OK (rank 69 … 4-6, 3-2, 1-0, 5-0)
Best wins: at Marquette, at Iowa, Maryland, vs USC
“Won’t hurt” losses: vs Kansas, at Illinois, at Indiana, at Maryland
No Q3 or Q4 losses (so far)

UW has opportunities to boost resume, but a couple of ways to damage it, too.

Resume boost w/ win: Purdue, Rutgers, Iowa, at Michigan.

Resume damage with loss: at Nebraska, at Minnesota.

Didn't Arkansas fall into that category pre-season of buying a team? Did it just not pan or is that for the following year.

And they appear to be having a consistent lineup. Really weird.

I don't remember what his violations were for years ago and he must not either.

Either way it's time for him to retire.
Their best wins via KP:
48 VT
109 Cornell
172 Notre Dame.

That's a really bad basketball team.

If you look at the margin of our losses in conference it's fair to say that a modest improvement in free throw percentage and we'd be undefeated in conference.

Duke doesn't look good but Miami looks similar to last year. Real athletic and capable.
