***2022-23 MBB General Thread***

Both Ohio State and Michigan should be eliminated from the NCAA tourney after tonight. They haven’t both missed the tourney in the same year since 2008.

Anybody else notice how bad Loyola is doing in the A-10? They are the lowest rated team in that conference and they haven't even been competitive in alot of games this year.

Nova win is going to be Q3 at absolute best the way it’s looking. Crazy to think that would turn out to be a “bad loss” had we not pulled it out.

Villanova has plenty of chances to end up in Q2, although not sure if it's possible to achieve it: Creighton (twice), Providence (twice), Xavier, Marquette, UConn. Also vs. St. John's, which for ISU-related purposes would be a wash -- SJU win has faded into Q3 territory, too.

I can live with having that and SJ as W's and leave it at that.

Is anyone else surprised that in the days of NIL there actually seems to be more parity in college basketball?

Kentucky a dumpster fire. Duke down (although transition from Coach K could be part of the reasons). Villanova bad. UNC bad. Michigan State not what they usually are.

Figured the blue bloods would be putting distance between themselves and the rest of the pack.

Shows the ebb/flow of a CBB season and results.

At opposite ends: the frustrating/dreadful loss at Iowa probably won't hurt the resume much (if at all); ISU's first notable win of the season could become a footnote (although no win of any kind is considered "bad.")

Funny how that's happened to us 2 years in a row now.

We thought that Oregon State win was a big win with them coming off an elite 8. They ended up garbage.

Today is the first of 6 quad 1 games in a row (possibly 8 if Tech can stay top 75)

This Kentucky vs Tennessee game is so sloppy. This is what having highly rated recruits who just play 5 on 5 hero ball looks like.

Calipari to Texas in the off-season makes sense. Seems to have stagnated in Kentucky a bit. Seems to need a reset. Freshman just don’t win you games in CBB any more. You need 22 and 23 year olds.

Down to the wire in Norman. Even the bottom half teams from the big 12 look highly competent and are fun to watch. Go WVU, **** OU.
