Fran just said Nowell is 55 of 58 at FTs this year in the final 5 minutes of games. Incredible.

Man, KState winning at OSU was huge for our KC seeding.
If these three things happen...our chances of being the 5 seed even if we lose at Baylor are really high:

  • ISU over WVU
  • Baylor over Oklahoma State (Stillwater)
  • Texas over TCU (Fort Worth)
OSU is who we need to lose as much as possible since they hold the tiebreaker over us.

If we lose to WVU we basically need OSU to lose both remaining games (vs Baylor/at TT) or we are playing Wednesday.

Is the B12 doing WV a traveling favor by having them play at KU today then Ames Monday?
I'd imagine they'll be in DSM tonight?

Baylor got to play both Kansas teams Saturday- Monday back to back last weekend. Meanwhile we have to make multiple trips back and forth to Texas and Oklahoma all season long.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but it appears some Big 12 teams are getting the Pac-12 style schedule to cut down on travel and fatigue.

It makes sense for WVU to get it given they're across the country. That helps even out the disadvantage of having to do the long trips. Not so much for a school like Baylor though.

Yeah, Texas and Oklahoma I guess are only 2-3 hour flight from Iowa but there's no reason they couldn't schedule us to only go down there 4 or 5 times instead of 6 every year since we are the furthest north.

Might be part of the reason we look so lethargic lately.

WV is hitting the glass hard today vs KU. We've got our work cut out.
