2021 Goals

fleeing IL is so 2020....

I fled Illinois before fleeing Illinois was cool.

Get some type of exercise regime going. One for indoors and one for outdoors.
- With the above, lose this stupid COVID weight I put on, plus some
- Want to participate in some type of area road race next year.

I keep saying I want to learn to crochet. I have a book, and there's all the YouTube videos. Time for me to learn the basics.

Go visit my parents. I've seen them for about 9 hours in the past 12.5 months. That sucks.

Christmas is behind us and there is only one week of hedonism left before we roll into 2021.

What are your goals for 2021? Call them resolutions if you like, but I prefer goals.

Mine are:
1) Get better sleep - no screen time after 8pm, 8 hrs per night

2) Quit Twitter completely

3) Start weightlifting regimen. I lost a bunch of weight the last two years. I’m going to start putting on muscle following the Bigger, Leaner, Stronger approach.

What say ye?

I finally quit almost all social media about a year ago and don’t miss it at all.

I agree. I culled a large part of my social media intake at the start of this year and am definitely happier for it.

I also took more of a curated approach to what shows up in the feeds that I do check. Still have the accounts but a) I'm not checking them nearly as often, b) I've trimmed a lot of the fat, and c) they more much more informative / content creator style accounts. If I'm following something/someone who starts getting political/controversial/dramatic I drop that account or block it from my feed. Just don't need that crap getting me irritated/depressed.

This is pretty much what I did starting in 2016. Anything political or divisive gets an immediate unfollow/unfriend. However, I do follow a few political Twitter accounts to keep up to speed on news. Those are the ones I need to stay away from as part of my goal.

Made it to the gym at 4:45am today and got my workout in. Getting a jump start on 2021!

This year, I am hoping to start a BBQ food stand at my community's farmer's market. Currently, this biggest hang up is finding a health county approved commercial kitchen that will allow me to use their kitchen for the food prep. After New Year's Day, I am going to get more aggressive about calling restaurants or non-profits.

Yesterday for the first time I set up a food stand at my community's Farmers Market so mission accomplished.
