By doing that, you’re punishing a team that qualified for a conference championship and rewarding a team that failed to do so in a non-AQ league.     What I don’t understand is that everyone made a big deal in the summer about the committee emphasizing strength of record moving forward, yet according to ESPN, BYU eclipses both ND and Miami in that metric (as well as the more traditional Strength of Schedule).
