    Tinkle kind of is/ was to Oregon State what Fran was to Iowa, aside from the one deep NCAA run. Just moderately successful enough to not get fired for a really long time. Had a son play a lot of minutes for him etc. I do think his son was actually pretty good though unlike any of Frans.

    They actually weren't. They were extremely pedestrian down the stretch in Feb/ early March, lost to some really bad teams, and didn't do squat in their conference tournament. That's what makes their run all the more annoying, is that it pretty much came out of right field.

    I agree on interesting. It's easy to think they'll be worse, but then in the same thought process remember that they were only 21-12 prior to the elite 8 run
