Same thing that happens to everyone else that doesn't get a D-1 scholarship offer.
Would assume that any athlete with a D-1 scholly in hand doesn’t enter the portal without prior contact from a willing coach at some level to have a landing spot. Also would assume that coach would have recruited him or her in HS and has followed the progress of the athlete and kept him or her in his radar. I find it hard to believe that anybody enters the portal and just hopes for another opportunity with expenses paid.
This will have a ripple effect. The ones cut by D1 will find a home in 1AA. That will push a few out and down a notch and so on and so on.
We have walk ons offered by UNI. They may want to play and drop down.
May be a few hoping others leave and they can stick around. Not sure when the day of reckoning is and players are just cut.

Article says he played a total of 17 snaps in 2 appearances before suffering a season ending injury.
Yesterday was the last day to enter the Portal in the Spring window. If I catch any more popping up, I’ll probably just change the thread title, and add.
