Adult Swim has officially cut ties with 'Rick and Morty' star/co-creator Justin Roiland following domestic abuse charges.

The voices are going to be recast, but I can't imagine it'll be the same. . But in light of the charges against him, I think that was the only way AS could handle it.

I’m confused. Didn’t this happen in 2020 and he is just getting charged and has not been proven guilty? Really strange. Usually a suspend until the court case is over to avoid a lawsuit. Maybe u guys know the story better

The show will remain good, maybe even better with some fresh creative direction. Will be weird with different voices. Still got Harmon.

I’m conflicted on the show moving forward at this point. Harmon is an amazing writer, but the past two seasons have been ok at best and not really showing signs of improvement. I’d almost prefer to see it go out now than continue to decline.

It's not just the criminal charges at this point; in addition to those, a bunch of communications between Roiland and various teen girls/women have dropped, where he was not only racist but also sexual. Just go on Twitter and search "Justin Roiland DMs" if you want to see more. And then there were also sexual harassment issues at his videogame studio. I think it was the preponderance of bad behavior that did him in.

I think no one has come out in support of the guy. Usually that says a lot when nobody that knows him has anything good to say about him.

There are some really brilliant writers and producers on this show. They'll keep it in demand and creative. Just get some good voice actors and keep it going!

Honestly it's kinda like the "toxins" episode of Rick and Morty when the green-troublesome parts of Rick and Morty were cleaned out of their bodies. Basically, in this case, Justin Roiland is the green/toxin part of the show.

Sounds like Roiland hasn't been doing anything but voice work on his shows for years. So if you can do a spot on impression of the 2 or 3 voices he does you could make a lot of money.
