Thomas Pollard on the basketball staff

I didn't realize until today's game that Thomas is on the staff as a "data analytics specialist." Bright kid, so I'm sure he's doing his research pretty darn well.
Does anyone know if he's in grad school or is he pursuing a career in basketball?

I really like Jamie Pollard, and while I don't know Thomas Pollard, I have no doubt he's a wonderful young man. It just smells bad when Jamie's son is given a position in the Athletic Department. No, it's not the same as Bill Fennally giving his son an assistant coaching position, but it still smells bad to me.

He has finished grad school. He started at Iowa State in the fall of 2015.

I agree. Best case scenario he has a degree in statistics or related field and was just aware of the opening so was able to take advantage of that knowledge. The optics are NOT good at all though.

He’s got a Masters in MIS and did internships with Kingland Systems as a data analyst for a couple of years.

Thomas makes $42k a year, this is a kid with a masters degree in Information Systems and Business Analytics. He could easily be making a LOT more money in the private sector.

Yes he does, he double majored along with supply chain. I was in a few math and stats classes with him. He's definitely smart enough to be doing this kind of job.
