I worked at HJ's as a pizza maker in hs. Very sad about this. Good pizza, just pricey.

As a kid they would always bring out a half Canadian bacon half Canadian bacon/kraut to the buffet. Nobody ever ate the kraut side.

There was an article in the DBQ paper today and after reading I wasn't clear about what the bankruptcy will mean. It sounded like the bankruptcy would impact the Happy Joe's Corporate entity and some of its owned stores. Individually owned franchisee locations would not be impacted.

But it sure seems like a number of Happy Joes stores have closed over the last couple of years. I like their pizza, but buying a $25 pizza every week isn't something I do. There are other restaurant foods I prefer if I'm going to drop that coin.

Taco and straight Canadian bacon were amazing. Last year we visited Des Moines. I was shocked that I could only find one HJs and it was a delivery/pick up joint. We ate the pizza in the parking lot.
