What is the best holiday yard display you have ever seen, and where was it? (Extra points for photos.) Is there a great neighborhood around that we shouldn't miss?

Alternately - what is the worst holiday display you've ever seen, or the worst trend? Relevant:

I’m guessing this is your favorite and in your front lawn.

This is about a mile down A1A from me. It's the largest private home in Martin County Florida. And has a 20 car garage in the basement. Built to withstand 200MPH winds!

They do this every year. Traffic hazard and people walking in the roadway so traffic backs up and stops. Also drivers gawking as they pass.

This is ONE property. A HUGE mansion (with a huge guest house).

I was asking around to see if maybe they were looking to adopt. I am now an orphan, so...

I'm sure many of you have seen Merlin Fort's light display in Dakota City, IA (immediately adjacent to Humboldt). He's been doing it for many years. I don't have a pic to share, wish I did. He lights up an entire hillside - it's pretty epic. It sounded like last year was going to be the end (he's approaching 90), but he decided to give it one more go this year. The vixen and I will be driving up this evening to take a look, I'll try to get a good pic and post it later.

EDIT: Link to WHO-TV story about it, you can see the display:

The best Christmas yard display I've ever seen is in Dakota City, Iowa. (I see @SCyclone beat me to it since I typed the long, boring anecdote below).

After a neighborhood holiday party a couple of years ago, we took the neighbor's deer ornaments and rearranged them into compromising positions.

Last year, the same neighbor was down to one working deer. Their boys strung the deer from a rope hanging from a tree and put a string of red lights hanging from it so it looked like blood dripping from the deer. She referred to it as redneck homes and gardens.

Don't have any pictures but there is a house in Grimes that fills up their entire front yard of inflatables for just about every holiday. My kids love it and ask to drive by after picking up from daycare and school every day.

Years ago saw an impressive rural display in Illinois where the owners probably spend days if not weeks setting up their display. Think of the picture SCyclone shared and at least double if not triple that. Was really cool, they had a long lane so it was all decorated then out in the yard/fields leading up the house they had these elaborate displays that blue lights on the ground that looked like a flowing river or creek going through and if it was covered in snow made that part of it look even more impressive. Every year we'd drive by it there was always a ton of cars stopped or slowing driving by, I think the word had gotten out over the years about that place so the locals knew to drive by it.

Not really a yard display but the house out in 13th St. in Ames sure has a lot of lights on it. Sorry no pic.

Yeah, I'm no prude and I love a good joke as much as the next guy but think about little kids coming by and then asking Mom and Dad what the reindeer are doing.
Leapfrog Velo, answer is always leapfrog.

Oops, I see Boxster beat me to it.
