QUOTEBOOK: Campbell on Hutchinson, Bankston, QB signees and more

Campbell said a lot of the same stuff at the Cyning Day event tonight that Jared has in his article. Here are a few more of my notes from the Cyning Day event:
  • We have 11 who will enroll in January.
  • Both QBs are left-handed.
  • Brady Peterson's mom is the ISU Dance Team coach.
  • We got another national caliber long-snapper (Koby Hathcock) who was also a leading runner and tackler on his HS team.
  • We are getting a WR from Gilbert, AZ. Is Brock getting the band back together?
  • Hutchinson (JUCO WR) is not just ready to play, but has a big personality that will impact the locker room.
  • The whole room went "ooooohhhhh" and John Walters had to stop his interview when the background video showed a massive QB hit by Johnny Wilson.

Jamie Pollard told about getting the Camping World Bowl call. He was expecting the call at 2:30, but it didn't come until 2:33! When they asked him what he thought they were calling about, he joked about "the Alamo Bowl trading Texas to them for a team to be named later" (or something like that).

Pollard also said that the CWB people said they picked us for three reasons: 1) our fans, 2) we have a national brand coach who is definitely staying, and 3) our body of work as a team (they view us as a 9-3 or 10-2 team).

Would love to see that hit by Johnny Wilson. I taught him in 6th grade. I guess Oklahoma was calling daily. Glad he stayed with isu. Can't wait for him.

The specific one on Wilson. At the Cyning Day event, they showed it from several angles on a big screen. This one is not the best. From the side you see that he creamed the QB and knocked the ball loose. You may need to watch it a few times before you see it. He comes from the back right in the video to make a great hit. It happens at the 26 second point.
