Jumping the gun on XF's commitment a touch, but assuming he does, next two years are more likely traditional lineups without a point forward type on the floor. How will the offense change to maximize scoring?

just my opinion, but I think Foster’s freshman year will probably be similar to Conditt’s and Griffin/Young/Conditt will get most of the time up front. Prohm doesn’t seem to like to play young big guys early because they have too much to learn defensively. I think Jackson and Bolton will give us good scoring pop from the guard position. Leech hopefully as well.

Already changed. Jacobson is going to be playing the 4 with help from Griffin (and maybe Anderson). I’d expect to see some Solo/Griffin pairings at times, too, because George has those skills,

I admit, it’s weird to me that people think that Prohm fixates on the 4/1 lineup. He’s a better coach than that.

Maybe I’m not following this correctly but...Who are these point forwards that we’ve had recently and who is our “point forward” this year?

I was including this year in that count, but assuming Prohm might be less likely to alter the offense for just one year. Land XF, and we have two years of a traditional lineup without a point forward type.

based on what I have read, Foster is most likely not an instant starter for ISU. Prohm is a very good coach, despite what some fans think. If XF comes to ISU Prohm will build the best team he can with everyone there.

Players like Niang, Burton, and Talen who had ability to guard down low while also initiating offense.

Royce White was a point forward. Those guys were just forwards that could dribble and played with a discernible Point Guard. Niang played that role a little bit from time to time but Lucious, Kane, and Morris were the primary ball handlers and offense initiators during the Niang years.

Yeah, you’re right, those guys were all secondary playmakers. Gotta find a term for them because stretch 4 doesn’t really cut it. What would you call them?

Interesting question. Combo-Forward? Dual Threat Forward? Play-making Forward? Idk I need to get re-high then I’ll be able to come up with something good.

When have we used a point forward other than Royce?
