I wouldn't have married my wife if I did not trust her enough not to take half my belongings.
Oh I am the same, Then she took half my stuff, Took half my 401k, Child support and Alimony. So yeah. haha

Sounds like you married a real winner. My buddy got divorced and once he laid out for the judge everything he'd been paying for or paid off for the wife, judge made sure she wasn't getting half.Oh I am the same, Then she took half my stuff, Took half my 401k, Child support and Alimony. I dont know nor care. The point is if she/he isn't on the loan than marriage shouldn't matter imo. I mean you signed the contract to own each other, you cant sign the loan to buy a damn house together? After reading through this thread youd have to be one stupid s.o.b. to get married. What can you do being legally married that you cant do being bf/gf that live together? The odds are not in yout favor. After reading through this thread its not about anything other than leveraging assets against each other. No wonder why the people I know who have been together for 20 years and even have kids together without taking the commitment of financial misery are more happy. This thread should be a ******* public service announcement. Kudos to the couples who have made it but you are truly defying the odds.Did he lie on his loan application? Did he answer Single instead of married?
You live and learn. Im sure you won't make that mistake again.Yep, She was remarried to a new schmuck 2 years later. Same guy that was remodling my old garage a week after I moved out. They waited until my alimony was out to get married. I actually paid in advance to get it over with.
Good for him but seriously dont bring that nonsense here. We have a board full of people who think that all his **** is hers.Sounds like you married a real winner.
