We gave you your own singles awareness day, ironically the acronym is SAD but I swear that was a coincidence.
Child free people would like a word. I’ve worked so many holidays not having kids just by default or being put on random midnights just because I obv have more flexibility not having kids. It’s a touch annoying
I knew a guy that was married for like 6 months one time then got a divorce. The woman tried to get some of his retirement and the judge said anything marriage less than 3 years was a short term marriage and so he owed nothing to the woman. Why in the hell would someone you are married to short term be deserving of someones retirement? Another awful law. I could see if it was like a 20 year marriage. Another reason to stay single.
Alternatively, you start out with jack squat to your name then everything this truely 50/50.
What responsibility is the homemaker taking on for that decision? If they file for divorce, they know they will be awarded spousal support and assets to make up for that lost time. Relatively risk-free decision for that party. The higher earner has to pay for their ex's lost time in the workforce but they don't receive adjusted custody to make up for the lost time with the child, it's a double negative. That's the problem.
I think the asset division will always be messy but the child custody is very clearly slanted in one direction and not always for reasons that make sense.
Prenup can protect your future assets as well, honestly it sometimes can be more important depending on what your life goals are
Sometimes the schedule already gets made before input, usually it’s fighting the future battles. Honestly the holiday stuff isn’t that bad, the random midnights we push back on much more aggressively

I'm still paying my ex when my kid is there 2-3 nights a month on average. I also pay all his expenses. Attorney told me it would be 20 Gs to take her to court because she won't sign anything over and if she decided to fight back it's far from a guaranteed W. It just is what it is I guess. Four more years...
More discrimination against the singles
Yeah it's unreal. They should change the name from Child support to ex wife support.
I don't know if age has anything to do with some of this situations but I never thought it was a good idea to get married young. Like before 25. There is so much growth the couple years out of college. People can completely change after being in the real world for a while.
Marry someone who makes more than you.
