This was just a matter of time.
In most sports, you would be able to track offensive/defensive schemes throughout the year/preceding years, and adjust accordingly.
Add AI personnel to staff.

I'd think an issue would be the lack of need for actual coaches.
you still have to have humans using the AI. creating the prompts, interpreting the results, drawing form experience and using their gut a bit, going to the mound and taking the ball away from the pitcher.

also, i get it. mostly playing devils advocate.

If there is any sport in dire need of more humans making decisions, it's MLB. The over usage of data has led to less exciting baseball. (with NBA a close second)

Better also restrict phones and smart watches. You could easily have someone in the stands using AI and texting instructions.

Should really do it in football too.
I think this will happen across the board. Heck, I know the soccer cameras with the AI built in it can analyze a game, get the analytics and basically can give the coaching points for you. These are just cameras you'll see at your local 14U game...not even terribly expensive, like in the hundreds and a subscription.

i have mixed feelings on this one... why should it matter where the strategy decisions comes from?

They probably don't want to cut down on runs. MLB is needing eyes on the TV set watching games. American like points, runs, scores. One of the problems with the Soccer final yesterday was lack of scoring. This is not an anti soccer rant. However, a lot of people were not down with the match because it was 1-0. Guessing MLB don't want any more teams finding ways to shut down hitters and home run hitters. Just my thought on it. I don't care either way. I am not a baseball purist or anything like that. My Red Sox have won 13 straight so I am all good right now. haha
