***2026-27 Mens College Basketball Thread***

He's a great kid and I'm rooting for him but if Tony Bennett and Ben Jacobson couldn't unlock more than he is now, I'm not sure there is more. That doesn't mean he won't be a huge piece, he will, but expecting him to do things he's never done before after 4 years in college is pretty optimistic.

He's a great defender that uses his length well, can get his own in the mid-range and can knock down a 3 if he gets his feet set. That's a very valuable player without asking him to do more.
I can trust your assessment, so based on what's returning & incoming (not even counting what freshmen might add), I'd be completely fine with those elements. I wouldn't expect him to have any PG on a regular basis.

That is Texas and Oklahoma type thinking. We're playing Grambling State and Stonehill College this year. We can substitute Drake and UNI on the schedule.

We aren't playing them as they may beat us and possibly lose recruits. Bush league stuff. Regional teams, friendly rivalries, keeps revenue in Iowa.
Potentially beating us and losing recruits doesn't sound friendly to me at all. Nothing to win and lots to lose IMO. Give me Grambling State and Stonehill College. UNI and Drake have survived just fine not playing us in recent past.

I flipped over to the draft and they’re introducing players onto the stage like starting lineups. No applause from the fans present. This is really dumb. How long have they been doing this?
