***Jack Trice Stadium/Hilton Coliseum alcohol sales thread***

There's going to be some theft that way that didn't exist before, it's a decision of raw money versus CX improvement. The other issue we have is that we often stock the shops with volunteer groups or fundraisers or whatnot, and going to this sort of system reduces that need and the work they'd do.

I've seen arenas now going to digital ordering panels like it's a Costco cafeteria. You order yourself on a tablet, pay right there, then go to the window when your order is called for pickup. No human interaction before picking up the order. This may be weird to do outdoors, I suppose, with the tech involved.

This is how it is at Casey's Center/Wells Fargo arena. Some people are so confused on how this works.

I am not a drinker but happy for those who have wanted this for years.....I am glad about the re-entry rule too. Hopefully no more half empty second half kickoffs....also let's some how get the Sukup folks to actually plant their butts in their seats.

Good luck with that when you're selling cheap seats for that much with the ability to be inside during heat\cold being the primary amenity driving that.
I just don't get paying that much for a seat plus a donation and then just...............................ending up inside at a bar. You might as well save yourself the driving time of getting to and from Ames and just go to your local bar if you want to be around people watching the game.

Seems ridiculous to me.

Would be curious how much of Pollard's flip is due to changing economics. Or is this something President Cook has challenged JP implement- no stone unturned to raise revenues.

The timing with the start of President Cook could be coincidental, but I doubt it.

Half the people setting in the Sukup section are there as clients, people not watching the game, but networking and BS with others. We got the privilege of seating in one of the private boxes on the west side for a game last year. 75% of the people were not watching the game, they were talking, networking about sells, or just being rewarded for a job they had completed.

It takes a little bit to get used to, but if done correctly, works so much faster. Then again, based on how our transition to digital ticket scans went, maybe that's not the best idea.

I wonder if this means they will try harder to enforce the no outside alcohol policy.

Apparently, there are some that don't see the clear meaning in this photo, so I will spell it out. None of the people in the endzone club need to leave the stadium in order to drink at their tailgates, yet it has a huge problem with people being in their seats when the second half starts that won't be solved by selling alcohol or prohibiting others from going out to their tailgates at halftime.

They mention the investments in weapons detection, which probably means more effort scanning people coming into the stadium, which likely means more catching of alcohol as well.

They had digital ordering panels at the MBB game in Arizona with a separate pickup window, but it didn't seem like it was being used very much.

Because my wife enjoys tailgating with our ISU student but doesnt really care about the game but my youngest does. So they get endzone seats so everyone is happy. I sit with my buddies on the sideline.

Its not like Sukup is that much more. Sukup is $1,000 a seat and my sideline seat is $700.

I mean Sukup is definitely not in my budget but if it were, I would oh I don't know..........sit in the damn seat I paid for.

I don't get how some of you don't feel embarrassed to see a less than half full Sukup End Zone.....and we have maybe 1 hot weather game and 1 cold weather game all year......and last year we had only 1 bad weather game all year (ASU)...our senior day game against Kansas was perfect weather and guess what we got with our Sukup EZ friends........emptiness.

Well it's because the people sitting in the Sukup EZ are pansies

Every camera shot of an empty part of our stadium is a bad look for the program. Everything these days is about perception and that perception is reality.

Why can 95% of the stadium find their seat but the rich folks can't?
