Hakeem Butler signs with Broncos

If he’s used right as we all know he’s a fantastic weapon. Ask him to catch slants you’re wasting your time. He’s the king of the 50/50 ball and that will translate.

Winner. Rocco's dad knows how to use him, so you'd think a NFL coach could figure it out.

I imagine a lot NFL teams think he is what he is and he has probably hit his ceiling. I think he can be used effectively but since he's a role type player they chose to take the players that have more upside, at least in their opinion. I'm rooting for him but I will be surprised if he makes the team just based upon history.

The problem is the way the NFL rules are, games are officiated and how accurate QBs are it’s just a lot easier to have guys that can create space by getting in and out of breaks well rather than a big receiver that has to win a 50/50 ball.

These tall receivers that don't get good separation aren't as valuable anymore. And I don't know what the drops are like for him now over the past few years, but going into the draft I'm pretty sure he had the highest drop rate of guys in the draft. I'm sure better, but I don't know if it's too the point where his consistently in catching balls is at the level NFL teams want.

Teams would rather play with what essentially are three slot-type guys that get separation on a bunch of intermediate routes. It used to be you'd get single coverage on the outside with a 6'4" guy, and you're putting the ball up and seeing if he can go make a play or get a penalty. Not really how teams play as much anymore.

Kurt Warner?
Apples to oranges. What do you know that the people who get made to make these evaluations from all 32 teams dont? The NFL is a different world. Its not like he's a year removed from college or something either. His greatest asset as ISU was size and speed. The Big 12 is not the NFL. Do you know of any players other than a QB who have came in the NFL 5 years after college and really done anything? The USFL guys in the 80s dont count either.
