I had a lite case about 15 years ago, and then got the shot afterward when I hit 50. My mom had a very bad case a few years before she passed, and they were horrible. Up and down one side of her body, shoulders down to her hips. Itched like heck and took forever to heal, but we was almost 80 at the time.

Maybe I just had a very mild case, but I didn't find shingles to be that bad. I had it back in high school and didn't find it to be that disruptive. Frankly it was better than having the flu or anything. I could still at least do other stuff.
I had shingles in college on my side, was a pain in the a** to get comfortable sleeping. Only visit I ever made to the student health clinic was for that.

Would make sense for Hali - Kittle to know each other - Hali buddies with Purdy - Purdy buddies with Kittle = Hali buddies with Kittle.
