Big XII options for sanctioning Texas Tech

What a chicken **** cowardly answer. "We, as Texas Tech, didn't file the injunction. The player did of his own free will with his own money"

"But also we were totally legally right when we threatened the other lawsuits after the fact"
He knew Tech was going to lose with the Feds. He pulled his NIL money and Sorsby goes to NFL.

He backed down

Well the good news is Tech is comitted to making sure Brendan gets the help he needs to overcome his gambling addicition.

Also in things I predict will ultimately happen:

Tech social media idiots just got dumb and dumber

Nothing like making yourself persona non grata in college sports then going independent. Good luck scheduling.

They thought he would never get the injunction and had no plan when he did. Thats the only way this makes sense.

My Tech coworker hopes this is the demise of the Big 12. Tried really hard to explain why what Sorsby did would not impact the integrity of the game if he played again. "But he was only betting on his team, that's different!"

They’ll probably act all noble, saying they felt like they needed to support their student athlete while the legal process was playing out and he made a decision for himself on what was best for his future. Then hope it all dies down and gets buried by some other story as soon a possible.

Well I hate to toot my own horn, but here is a letter from the university president:

Texas Tech Community,

Earlier this evening, Texas Tech University Board of Regents Chairman Cody Campbell issued an update on Brendan Sorsby and announced that he will not be a member of the Red Raider football team this fall.

When Brendan’s lawsuit resulted in the granting of a temporary injunction, we found ourselves in a difficult situation. With his health and wellness as our top priority we supported him in spite of very different perspectives and opinions. Our position was challenged by many but our support for him never changed. We will continue to extend all available resources that Brendan had as a student and athlete to ensure his transition is as successful as possible.

We heard from many Red Raiders and we appreciate your passion. Please know that Texas Tech will continue to be a constructive voice in matters related to health and well-being for all students.

Sincerely,

Lawrence Schovanec
