I don't disagree but would you say all the teams leaving the Big 12 the last 15 years have put us in a better position?
I don't really care about "better position" but revenue wise ISU is better than it ever has been.

Completely cut them loose. If they want to play hardball by getting their state's attorney general to force how the B12 and NCAA conduct business, forget it. They are trying to bully everyone because they have money and evidently state backing. If all the schools start acting like that then everything is done for. Kick them out.Let them go. They are only relevant now because of their sugar daddy. Until the last 2 years they weren't even thought about by anyone outside of Lubbuck.
Easier for the schools to do this one their own rather then have a stated policy and get sued on it.![]()
Big Ten won’t prohibit members from scheduling Texas Tech amid Brendan Sorsby gambling fallout
The Big Ten is expected to let its schools make decisions about scheduling Texas Tech on their own.www.nytimes.com
Big 10 got their virtue signaling in so no need to actually do anything.
IMO they never seriously planned to do anything and just said they considered it for clout.Easier for the schools to do this one their own rather then have a stated policy and get sued on it.
Don't think it's inevitable the Big 12 will back down and not do anything. It's hard to believe, but a district court judge has ruled that a grown man who clearly violated the rule cannot because punished because the punishment will be harmful to him. Seems unlikely this ruling will be upheld. When the Big 12 inevitably backs down from doing anything, the Big 10 and SEC are going to act like they would do something different if it was their conference.
True but that's somewhat natural if you're in a successful business. Maybe a better question is whether Iowa state is as good or better off than the people that have left the conference, at least so much as revenue?I don't really care about "better position" but revenue wise ISU is better than it ever has been.

Sure, but I think we can both agree that if the goal is to be competitive at the highest level then money is pretty highly important in our society and that's got nothing to do with your or my opinion on it.Once again, I don't care about that. I like the sports competition, which imo we are doing well at. I don't care about the **** contests of "I have more money", "my conference is better than yours" etc.
Honestly and personally I prefer others who just want to play the sports by the set rules and not all the blowhards trying to prove something.
They wouldn’t have gotten the Big 12 invite 30 years ago if it weren’t for Ma Richards.Let them go. They are only relevant now because of their sugar daddy. Until the last 2 years they weren't even thought about by anyone outside of Lubbuck.
Are you thinking of Baylor? TTU was the obvious third choice after UT and A&M.They wouldn’t have gotten the Big 12 invite 30 years ago if it weren’t for Ma Richards.
Your billionaire amorality stance is distorting rational thought from your end.
TT has not officially committed to actually playing him via the Hocutt statement so the B12 taking action at this point would be likely premature although they are providing threats behind closed doors if he does actually play.
And then there is this:
They wouldn’t have gotten the Big 12 invite 30 years ago if it weren’t for Ma Richards.
Only UT and aggy were preferred choices. Are you thinking of Baylor? TTU was the obvious third choice after UT and A&M.
The story I remember is that it was just A and M and UT. However Ma Richards made them take Baylor and Tech. Are you thinking of Baylor? TTU was the obvious third choice after UT and A&M.
Big 10 in official statement: "We will not provide official guidance on scheduling Texas Tech"Easier for the schools to do this one their own rather then have a stated policy and get sued on it.
Not really. The gap has grownI don't really care about "better position" but revenue wise ISU is better than it ever has been.
Tech was the obvious number 3 though. It's not like they were going to take Rice or TCU (at the time). The story I remember is that it was just A and M and UT. However Ma Richards made them take Baylor and Tech.
Originally I think they were thinking of 10.Tech was the obvious number 3 though. It's not like they were going to take Rice or TCU (at the time).
I've always heard the story as being they were set on those 3 and it was a battle for the 4th spot that Ma Richards tipped towards Baylor over Houston.Originally I think they were thinking of 10.
Could be, but I always remember UT approaching with the idea of 10 and keeping the OU and Nebraska rivalry which would get eliminated when they went to 12.I've always heard the story as being they were set on those 3 and it was a battle for the 4th spot that Ma Richards tipped towards Baylor over Houston.
