Texas Tech 10 Million Dollar Portal Season

Why didn’t the NCAA move to change venue? Or would they not be able to do that for an injunction ruling?
Not able to do that because it’s essentially pausing the ruling until it’s settled in court which has coincidentally scheduled it for 2 weeks after the CFP Championship

Cool, so if you're trying to support the kid, then why are they immediately throwing him back into a position that created this problem in the first place?

If you are concerned about the kid and want what's best for him, give him the money you paid him and give him the year to train for the next NFL draft. Keeps him out of the situation, doesn't impact the integrity of the game, and sets him up for the future.

Nothing that hasn’t already been stated, but if it were up to me, take away his NIL, dismiss him from the team, ban him from college eligibility, and then support him with getting over his gambling addiction. You broke the rules.
Jim Rome had a short segment the other day on the subject. He likened it to a murderer who confesses to the killing, the police have his DNA and the murder weapon, but he fights going to prison because it will affect his future earnings and happiness.

That and I laughed at the Tech AD's comment that people are overlooking Sorsby is getting a 2 game suspension against Abilene Christian and Oregon State. Not just this situation, but others as well, non-conference suspensions are meaningless. Should have to sit-out Conference games.

In Sorsby's case, 2 games is a joke. Obviously, a crazy judge thinking that was punishment.

They very clearly indicated they expect him to play. That's why the whole statement about sitting out two games was put in there. Tech's AD views that as his complete punishment and all is well after that.

He's not being put on the IR and missing games due to "gambling addiction", whether that's made up or not. Nobody has ever done that, or ever will.
Hocutt’s statement clearly doesn’t reference him actually playing.

Now Campbell definitely had a different tune in the Dakich interview mostly in defiant response to comments from other ADs within and outside the conference.

I still think the B12’s hands are tied until when/if he actually plays and the B12 will need to have a contingency plan in place whether that be Tech forfeits, an orchestrated in-game opponent walkout/boycott, or CFP Committee refusal to acknowledge their wins (which is plausible given they aren’t the NCAA).

And I still expect him to not play at all. As Bruce Feldman noted today, his history of instability and the pressure facing him if he does play would likely torpedo his NFL stock, not enhance it. So he may be better off settling with Tech and focus on the NFL and Tech may be better off with Will Hammond.

I liken it to something Denis Leary once said:

Don’t worry despite all evidence to the contrary TT will still do the “noble” thing and not play him lol

People legit just believe what they want despite every fact and action pointing to the opposite, truly the human mind is a marvel

how much are you willing to wager?
