*** Cyclone Fanatic Fast Food Tournament Round of 64 ***

It's insanity how much a 'value meal' is now at all of these place. I don't go to them that often, but when I do, especially with the current prices, I ask for everything I order to be made fresh...and they all do it no problem. If i'm gonna pay that much for fast food, it's not gonna have sat under a lamp for an hour. I highly suggest you ask for fresh every time...it does make a massive difference.
"Can you make that fresh for me?"
<grumbles> "One cheesburger, extra spit"
"What did you say"
"Nothing sir. We'll get that for you right away."

I usually try to get something freshly made by adding a few wrinkles to my burger order like no onions, or no ketchup so they can't just grab one from under a warming lamp.

Of course that doesn't mean they aren't also spitting on it. :p

I was at a McDonalds where a dude in front of me ordered a cheesburger burger with no onions. I watched the worker grab one from under the warmer, unwrap it, scrape the onions off with their (thankfully gloved) hand, rewrap it and put it in a bag.

I audibly laughed, turned around and walked out.

I know incidents like this are very isolated, but I'm glad my daughter is grown. This soccer dad had too much fast food for a number of years. Unless I'm travelling, I rarely go through a drive-thru anymore.

Worked at an A&W in high school. Had a guy order a cheeseburger no cheese. Coworker taking the order said a hamburger then, and the guy was adamant about a cheeseburger no cheese. We almost never had a finished sandwich done and sitting under a heat lamp, but we did parcook patties during very busy times and had them in a warmer. Guy got the same patty he was going to get anyway, but no cheese and costing him an extra 20 cents because he thought he was outsmarting the system.

I know Taco Bell gets a lot of hate but I like it and it's actually one of the remaining reasonable fast food places. Some of these places are so expensive it's crazy

I loved their nacho cheese chalupas but they got rid of them years ago. The nacho fries are pretty good. I do like their tacos but too greasy, can't handle that anymore. Del Taco tastes better and is cheaper. Not sure if they have any Iowa locations though.

The only seeding head scratcher for me, really, was Runza. As a 10, it’s the underdog, but still. Everyone talks about the explosiveness that is Taco Bell. TB has nothing on Runza in that regard, and Runza is **** food. Should have been in the 14-16 range.

All others…I think fairly seeded.

Great job committee.

Do we have those around here? I’ve only seen them when I was working in Phoenix. Or maybe it was San Francisco. Can’t remember beyond it being out west. It was pretty good as I recall.
Nope it's only out on the west coast/southwest.

This. Hardee's used to be legit. I kind of stopped going in college when money was tight and they were the only fast food chain to not really offer a dollar or value menu of any kind. Then one by one the 5 Hardee's locations in my town started to shutter. I think there's one left now. Stopped in a few weeks ago and nothing has really changed; pretty high end on pricing vs McDonald's, BK, Wendy's etc. More in line with Culvers price point, but without Culvers quality.

Hardee's went to **** when they merged with Carl's Jr. back in the late 90's. Hardee's changed their menu to the Carl's Jr. Menu and the rest is history. They kept a few of the Hardee's main stays like the Frisco Burger but the majority of the original menus was scrapped which was a damn shame.

I put Taco Bell towards the top of the list for "why does this cost so much?"

$5.49 for one cheesy gordita crunch is ludicrous

Especially when there was a time that they got in trouble for having too much filler in their ground beef. It's also where the general public found out that the beef only had to be something like 40% actually meat and somehow Taco Bell was below that.
