I got hit once from a Mexican restaurant in CR. This is accurate.Food poisoning isn't a digestive skill issue. It's a restaurant problem with handling of the food. If you ever get food poisoning, you will have about 24 hours of wishing for death.

This is fun
The BK closest to my place closed a couple of years ago ... now Arby's is at the site (Arby's closed here about 10 years ago, at a different location). I didn't go to BK frequently anyway, but occasionally a Whopper sound SO appealing, and I still liked the traditional basic chicken wich, although quality of that seemed to drop a little.Out of every fast food joint, BK's fall from grace seems the steepest, especially given that they used to be such a major player in the genre. I've been to maybe 3 in the last 10 years, waited a long time and didn't get good or warm food at any of them. And all were dirty.
It pisses me of nostalgically, too. I spent a good amout of time studying at the BK across from Friley. 2 burgers/2 fries/2 bucks with a small bottomless soda was right in my financial wheelhouse. And their burgers used to be really good for a fast food burger.
I was always a big BK fan growing up, mostly because of their onion rings and the fact that they were the only ones with those, and also the original chicken sandwich. I agree with everyone about their quality nosediving. But it looks like their new campaign is founded on a re-dedication to product quality, so we'll see how legit that is.The BK closest to my place closed a couple of years ago ... now Arby's is at the site (Arby's closed here about 10 years ago, at a different location). I don't like BK enough to drive ~20 miles at random and obviously not a close enough hub that I can do Door Dashery.
Thing about Whopper, for me, in past couple of decades, it's indulge-worthy, but my system getting too old and it's kind of effort to digest the darn thing.
and while we’re on it, as bad as whataburger is, it’s a Michelin quality restaurant compared to Jack in the Box. I’ve had Jack in the Box twice in two different states (Idaho and California), and both times I got a burger, and it was inedible. I can almost always get something down once I’ve payed for it, but not Jack in the Box. I’ve also never met anyone that’s had it and liked it.man living in KC I try to like Whataburger but every time it's some of the worst food I've ever had. At this point I'm an idiot for trying it more than 5 times thinking this time I'll see what others see, but nope hot garbage. I've actually gotten a french-fry from Whataburger that was both burnt to a crisp on one end and frozen on the other.
The polish sausage with mustard and grilled onions is the bomb! Not sure about seeding, but there’s many other good options to eat at Portillo’s, not just dogs.
You can order them with as much or as little au jus as you want. Some places will dunk the whole sandwich in it, which I agree is too much. Those chicago italian beef things are terrible. Might as well pour a can of condensed campbells beef soup on a hot dog bun. Messy, gross.

Jack in the Box is only good drunk or high.and while we’re on it, as bad as whataburger is, it’s a Michelin quality restaurant compared to Jack in the Box. This seems vaguely familiar, but I'd like a refresher about specifics on that.Wendy's did it to themselves when they totally reinvented everything back in the late 2000's.
I don't get the love for Portillo's. IMO it's really expensive for what you get. I guess I might understand it for someone who has never had good homemade sausage. My wife and and I both grew up in small German communities with butchers that made and still make sausage from family recipes. Every winter, we have a bunch shipped (bring it back if we travel). Cheaper than Portillo's.The polish sausage with mustard and grilled onions is the bomb!
Do we have those around here? I’ve only seen them when I was working in Phoenix. Or maybe it was San Francisco. Can’t remember beyond it being out west. It was pretty good as I recall.I was a little disappointed that Del Taco didn't make the cut.
Controlling share in Whataburger was bought by a Chicago investment firm, and they've been trying to expand the footprint. Many complaints that they are expanding too fast and the QC in the new stores is poor due to lack of training and not sourcing good ingredients. I hope they fix it. The original family retained some ownership, and has supposedly been pushing to improve this.man living in KC I try to like Whataburger but every time it's some of the worst food I've ever had. If you've lived in Chicago, in the actual city, then you've probably had the real/legit Italian beef sandwiches, sausages/hot dogs, etc., which IMO makes it harder to be all that dazzled by Portillo's. It's a little like Lou Malnati's for pizza, I could name a half-dozen other Chicago pizza places that leave Malnati's in the dust, but Malnati's is probably the best known because they've scaled and done a good job of marketing. Not banging on Portillo's, it's decent IMO, but it's built to scale and a far cry from the authentic Chicago street-style stuff that is just so, so good.I don't get the love for Portillo's. Haha! Reminds me of some White Castle burgers (really the worst!) that got shoved under a couch, back in the day. They didn't mold, they didn't decay, they petrified. After she discovered these marvels of science, the host turned them into Christmas ornaments.and while we’re on it, as bad as whataburger is, it’s a Michelin quality restaurant compared to Jack in the Box. Sonic used to be really good. 20+ years ago. Not sure what happened. I went there a few years ago and got mozzarella sticks and they made me puke. Had them for a second time a few months ago and same result. They have good drinks but that's about it.That's my history with Sonic. I so wanted to like them but never got a decent dining experience at one. Ever. So I quit trying.
This was one of the tougher ones to put together. I think a pizza one would be tough also because it would be hard to come up with 64 places.Wait, you're supposed to complain in this thread, not shower us with compliments!![]()
Seriously, Thanks!
Also I'm joking about "complaints," ALL feedback is appreciated. It's a fun, collaborative (and sometimes lengthy) process to compile the bracket, we know it's never perfect, and subject to critique.
Yes, pizza could be a challenge to reach 64. I think we discussed that in committee when we decided to sequester that separately from general fast food. This was one of the tougher ones to put together. I think a pizza one would be tough also because it would be hard to come up with 64 places.
