Milan Momcilovic withdraws from the 2026 NBA Draft

Northwestern is obviously not on the same level as current ISU, but they do have a decent coach and I'm sure their fans (how ever many there are) wish Singleton had stayed past his freshman year.

Otherwise, yeah, I agree about TJ's transfers. I don't agree that it was "purely a money grab." Timing of the NBA draft process was a significant factor.

How do you figure?

For Milan's sake he better shoot 50 percent from 3 next season. Kentucky fans are ruthless and will expect nothing less than Steph Curry like production. Especially with the money he is getting.

I would rather spend $6 million on a starting 4, or 5, players than one player. But, good for him if Kentucky is going to give it to you. Now, will he respond to the pressure of the big money and Big Blue Nation. Their fans are ruthless and some times delusional. Jelly beans, Milan, jelly beans!

I am grateful for all he did for ISU over 3 seasons.

Say the portal opened on the same day as the deadline for deciding whether to stay in the draft. On that day, a few thousand players enter the portal, including all the big names. Would Milan be getting $6 million offers? Maybe something more in line with what ISU could afford? Close enough to keep him a Cyclone? We'll never know, but the way the system is currently set up there was zero chance of him returning.

Maybe, as some on here have said, he actually wanted to move on from ISU. That he didn't want to be the #1 option on a new, younger team. Well, that's still different than this being strictly a money decision.

He still couldn't rebound, play defense, and literally did not show up in the big moments especially in the tournament. Who made the biggest threes this past year that actually mattered, Nate. I think he's a great shooter, but 6 mil is wild.

People tend to forget most of the time he was a liability on defense who was surrounded by elite defensive pieces who most of the time were able to cover up this deficiency, but when they weren't able to it got bad very quickly. Not to mention while he's an elite shooter, most of the time he needed his teammates to get him an open look (even if it was for the briefest of moments), but when he had to get his own shot it rarely went well, like when he completely vanished in the Tennessee game when he needed to be one of the guys that carried us.

People are automatically assuming because UK is spending money that it's going to be the best team money can buy, not considering that on the defensive side it's probably not going to be anywhere near as good as what ISU had, exposing his weaknesses defensively, as well as hoping that these guys are going to mesh well together offensively. Perhaps the roll of the dice works well for Kentucky, but my money will be on this doesn't mesh nearly as well as UK wishes it will (because most of the time that's how it works out these days) and if this is a disaster for UK, well, Milan went from a fringe draft player coming off an unheard of year to someone who had all of his weaknesses exposed because he decided to take a quick payday.

I'm happy for Milan getting paid.

Pope will coach him down to a lower level, but he'll work his way back up to an NBA team.
