F1 2026 Discussion

The sprint was pretty good too. Seems like these new cars can follow a lot closer and for a lot longer, and that's part of what's making the battles so fun.
The new regs got the aero package right. The cars can handle dirty air pretty well. That new power unit though...

43 points down is a big number. Lot of season left but you almost have to think the team just makes Kimi the #1.

How many was Max down last year? Can't remember. Also, Norris came back from a bit of a distance last year as well. Kimi just needs to keep driving well and avoid accidents and break downs.

I don't think the team really has to make him number one, he just is at this point. George has been getting punked by a 19 YO since Shanghai.

I'm betting there will be a couple real dust ups between those two by the time the season is over. There would have been a real shot at P1 for Lewis if George's car didn't **** out. I'm not sure the Mercs would have made it to the end on Sunday without taking each other out.

George is not Max, but good point.

I almost forgot it's Monoco week. View attachment 171251

F1 this year is having a bad year. Not all their fault. The schedule is so messed up because the cancellations, new TV network making it more difficult to watch, cars all different and a lot of complaints. This is the first year where I have had to google “is F1 having a race this weekend”

Yeah it's been a weird year. I have and like Apple TV but I forget when the races are happening this year.

Eh, I think this year is way better than prior years. I find the racing to be way more interesting but I know not everybody shares that opinion.

I think the racing so far has been pretty good. I'm concerned about it when they get to places like Spa and Monza but overall it's been pretty good. I think the ratio between engine power and battery power needs tweaked a little yet but the aero changes have been exactly what they needed.

Monza will be interesting, they're full throttle something like 70% of the lap.

Hopefully they figure out something by then.

So we have a few races that might be stinkers. How is that any different than normal?

Man i wonder how big Indy racing would be right now if CART and Indy didn't split with each other in the 1990's and basically killed Indy racing. It seems to start to making somewhat of a comeback. Not anywhere near F1 level but the racing is fantastic. Wish they would get rid of those windshields. I want to see the driver. Keep the Halo on the car, just lose the windshield.
